Police Report


Below are excerpts of the Police Investigation Report on the Drowning Incident of Luijoe


"7.Initial Investigation conducted by SPO4 Geoffrey Baguio, disclosed that on or about 2:30 in the afternoon of May 27, 2000, the victim was taking a bath at the swimming pool inside Blue Water Beach Resort Buyong, Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City, and was using a snorkel together with his two elder sisters.

8. An unidentified male walk-in guest who was also taking a bath at the swimming pool shouted to the life guard identified as one Julio Rosales who was more or less eight meters away from the swimming pool and informed him that somebody was drowned. The life guard saw the victim floating in prone position beside the swimming pool. He immediately lifted the victim at the side of the pool and removed the snorkel from the victim's mouth. Bubbles of water came out from the mouth of the victim.

9. Julio Rosales called Ramir Escuyos , bar tender and the company nurse May Cherise Tampus. Guest Service office Jeanette Pasana who is also a registered nurse helped out and they applied CPR on the victim to no avail.

10. After applying CPR, victim was brought to Mactan Community Hopsital, but victim was pronounced Dead on Arrival by the attending physician. As alleged by Julio Rosales, the victim knew how to swim as he knew the victim since they checked-in at the afore-stated resort on May 26,2000, took a bath in the swimming pool.

16. Furthermore, the life attendant narrated that there were about thirty to forty persons taking a bath at the place of incident and in his twelve years of service as pool attendant/life guard he already had encountered five drowning incident , but was the first time wherein the victim died.
